Sizing & Measurements

Vintage clothing sizes tend to differ from contemporary clothing. Since this is the case, garments are measured in inches as follows:

CLOTHING:

  • Chest - measured flat, just beneath underarms and doubled
  • Shoulder - measured flat, from shoulder seam to shoulder seam
  • Length - measured from top of garment to hem
  • Outerwear and Blazer Length - measured at back from bottom of collar seam to hem
  • Waist - measured flat and doubled
  • Hips - measured flat and doubled
  • Rise - measured flat from crotch to top of waistline
  • Inseam - measured flat from crotch to bottom hem
  • Leg Opening - measured across bottom hem

FOOTWEAR:

  • Boot Shaft - measured from the bottom of the counter (where the boot and heel meet) to the bottom of the heel
  • Boot Calf - measures the perimeter of the boot at the top opening
  • Footwear Heels - measured from the bottom of the counter (where the shoe and heel meet) to the bottom of the heel
  • Platforms - measures the height of the platform at the widest point
